Police said a Dhaka-bound bus from Feni collided with a Chittagong-bound truck coming from opposite direction at about 6:00am, killing five people on the spot.
Two of the deceased were identified as bus driver Saiful Islam, 32, and helper Md Nooruddin, 28, while the others could not be identified immediately, reports our Comilla correspondent.
The injured were admitted to Chouddagram upazila health complex and Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Transport movement on Dhaka-Chittagong highway was disrupted for about two hours following the accident.
A case was filed with Chouddagram Police Station.
