Well, the bottom line is, "Idol" IS a democracy. Americans pick their Idol, and their choice isn't always what the Simons want (see: Hicks, Taylor). And no matter how hard the powers-that-be try to manipulate the outcome, they can't make a contestant kill it onstage when it counts the most. And, frankly, Lee choked on Tuesday. None of his three performances were the performances of a champion. So don't assume Crystal won't be in the winner's circle on Wednesday night. To bastardize an old saying, it ain't over till the Idol sings.
